Stretch Marks

Stretch Marks are de-pigmented linear areas of skin caused by irreversible rupture of elastic fibres in the deeper layers of the skin.

Stretch Marks appear most commonly in pregnant women, adolescents in the rapid growing age and people after slimming diets. In the first stage Stretch Marks are red transforming after a few months to white.

Can they be treated?

Yes – with the MultiClear System (FDA Approved) The MultiClear is an advanced, sophisticated phototherapeutic system which enables us to treat multiple medical and aesthetic disorders including Stretch Marks. Using a computerized interface the therapist will choose the optimal wavelength to re-pigment the Stretch Marks. The treatment session normally lasts 5-8 min and is pain free.

How does it work?

The MultiClear uses a proprietary blend of two wavelengths (UVB and UVA1) that have proved optimal for rapid re-pigmentation of “white” skin. The wavelengths of light emitted by the Multiclear trigger the melanocytes to produce more melanin in the non pigmented white skin and darken the existing melanin building blocks to normal skin colour.

The blend of these two specific wavelengths in one pulse of light allows a pain free treatment with minimal post treatment redness.

What will I feel?

Most experience some redness in the treated area. Redness typically appears 24 hours after a therapy and is usually pain free. In rare cases a slight sunburn phenomenon will appear. Redness will generally subside in 3-5 days.

What are the expected results?

Treatments are effective for all skin types and ages. Published clinical work has shown that partial pigmentation of Stretch Marks treated by the MultiClear starts after 3-6 treatments. Treatments are usually delivered twice a week for 4-6 weeks. Response in individual patients may vary.

Is it Safe?

Excessive UV light exposure is associated with skin ageing and should be avoided. Reaction to MulitClear treatments can be compared to sunlight but in contrast to sun tanning, it delivers smaller doses of light than natural sun exposure or artificial “tanning boxes” and also only targets the desired area without any damage to the normal skin. In addition MultiClear uses only specific wavelengths needed to re-pigment skin using exact doses to match individual skin sensitivity and colour.
